Senior Chemist - Admixtures (Concrete R&D Technician/Engineer)

• Establish trial formulations for new product development, formula localization, formulation efficiencies or product performance optimization
• Prepare lab batches for external testing (client or 3rd party), internal testing (lab or technical team) and validation
• Evaluate raw material (RM) alternatives, as well as packaging materials (PM) on identified products. Monitor performance of trial production and give disposition based on identified timeline
• Conduct micro-concrete and concrete trial mixes for newly developed concrete admixture and grinding aids
• Perform laboratory milling of grinding aid products
• Participate in product knowledge test
• Perform color matching for both powder and liquid products (based on sales requirement or requests)
• Conduct benchmarking studies of assigned product segments and communicate results with concerned departments
• Prepare and submit reports on status of other assigned projects to the QC/R&D Manager at the specified deadline
• Conduct tests for root cause analysis related to product complaints
• Support other department in providing technical information as referenced for this position.

 

Job Requirements: 

• BS Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
• Can be BS Civil Tech or Civil Engineering provided with experience in testing concrete
• At least 3 years QC in concrete batching plant or R&D for concrete admixtures
• Concrete testing following parameters of ASTM
• Can operate basic laboratory equipment
• Should be able to lift materials weighing up to 25kg
