Job description

Join a leading aerospace manufacturing environment supporting advanced aircraft fuselage assembly programs. We are seeking an experienced Assembly Mechanic – Fuselage with a strong background in aircraft structures, sheet metal, and precision assembly.

In this role, you will assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect, and test structural and system components using engineering drawings, process specifications, and quality standards. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the fit, form, and function of aircraft assemblies in a high-performance production setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, seal, rig, and inspect structural and system components
  • Perform functional testing to ensure fit, form, and function
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical documents
  • Use precision measuring tools and shop math to complete work
  • Verify work meets engineering and quality specifications; document discrepancies
  • Operate assembly tooling and support sub-assembly and final build
  • Perform basic machine maintenance (filters, lubrication, coolant, etc.)
  • Move products within the manufacturing area as needed
  • Support production flow, schedules, and team cross-training

Inspection & Equipment

  • Perform inspections, first article checks, and process surveillance
  • Document non-conforming conditions and support MRB process
  • Use mechanical/electronic measurement tools
  • Operate fastening equipment such as MTGR, Brotje, C-Frames, and IPAC systems
  • Work across areas including assembly, doors, fuel cell sealing, bench assembly, and pressure/vacuum testing
  • 11+ years of aircraft structures or sheet metal experience (required)
  • Strong experience in aerospace assembly, installation, and inspection processes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Hands-on experience with precision measuring tools and assembly equipment
  • Must be able to pass a plate test
  • Flexibility to work any shift, including overtime and weekends as required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment
  • Immediate availability required
