Job description

Porter provides exemplary guest service and hospitality through a wide range of duties. As one of the first points of contact for arriving guests, Porter warmly welcomes guests and assists them with luggage handling to ensure a smooth arrival and departure experience.

With a professional and courteous demeanor, Porter responds to guest requests, provides information about hotel facilities and local attractions, and assists in creating memorable guest experiences. Porter is also responsible for supporting valet services, including parking and retrieving guest vehicles safely and efficiently, as well as assisting with transportation arrangements when required.

By delivering attentive, personalized, and efficient service, Porter plays an important role in upholding the hotel’s reputation for luxury hospitality and service excellence.

  • Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. A Diploma in Hotel Administration or related hospitality field is preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a similar role is preferred, ideally in a luxury hotel or upscale hospitality setting. Experience in guest handling, luggage assistance, valet service, or concierge-related duties will be an advantage.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in spoken and written English is required. Fluency in additional languages will be considered an advantage.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently and courteously with guests, colleagues, and other departments.
  • Guest Service Orientation: Demonstrated passion for delivering exceptional guest service with a warm, professional, and engaging personality. Ability to anticipate guest needs and handle concerns patiently and effectively.
  • Driving Skills: Must possess a valid SIM A (driving license) and be confident in driving both automatic and manual vehicles to support valet operations safely and professionally.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy and ability to operate common computer applications relevant to the role.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to service quality and operational standards.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail in handling guest luggage, valet operations, and guest requests to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Professional Appearance: Well-groomed and professional presentation at all times, reflecting the standards of a luxury hospitality brand.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
