Looking to ELEVATE your career? Join 1 of the largest Commercial Aviation Training center in the world with over 12 in-house flight simulators. Our Montreal location seeks a Flight Simulator Technician. Must be available to work nights, evenings, and weekends. Work activities will include but isn’t limited to reading codes, troubleshooting, networking, and navigating operating systems.
Must be able to work night shift and weekends
Responsibilities
- Technical operational support:
- Preventative maintenance and provide technical support.
- Perform logistics duties, including parts received, repair, and testing/validation.
- Technical investigative and integration support:
- Diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators.
- Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
- Maintaining and documenting configuration control in both software and hardware.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Interpret complex customer requirements and to read and interpret electrical and electro-mechanical drawings and design documents.
- Administrative duties, documentation, and projects:
- Update technical documentation and procedures.
- Participating and actively learning in technical training courses and on-the-job learning opportunities.
- Perform and support various authorities’ qualification exercises and issue client reports regarding simulator health and status.
- Lead and act as a mentor to team members and primary technical point of contact.
Requirements
- DEC in Electronic, Computer Science, Aircraft Maintenance. or equivalent.
- 1- 3 years of direct simulator experience with at least 2 years of experience working on CAE simulators is preferred.
- Open, resourceful, independent, and able to find and resolve complex issues through troubleshooting and critical thinking.
- Interested in and understands the relationship between technical hardware and software interaction.
- Aeronautical knowledge, including knowledge of avionics, flight dynamics, aircraft systems and simulated systems.
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written proficiency in French and English.
- Knowledge of Windows, Unix, C++ and scripting languages (an asset).
- Knowledge of CAE software and applications (an asset).
