Patient Flow and Capacity Job Summary

The Departure Lounge attendant's role is retrieving the patient from their location within the hospital, transporting them to the Departure Lounge and into personal vehicle via wheelchair, and provide assistance with nutrition and comfort needs while in the lounge. In the Departure Lounge, the departure lounge attendant is to be present for the designated patient, either visually or physically, to observe patient behavior, communicate with patient and family/visitors, and notify nursing personnel if the patient condition changes or requires assistance.

Required Qualifications

  • Require BLS\CPR certification within ninety (90) days of start date.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer previous experience in a healthcare field.
  • Prefer demonstrated interpersonal skills to provide calm verbal feedback to patients, re-direct behavior, and reinforce safety with patients.
  • Prefer demonstrated knowledge/experience of growth and development, and possess the ability to interact, communicate and care for specific patient population with care and compassion.
  • Prefer the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Prefer the ability to work with minimal supervision.
