Job description
NEC4 Contract Administration
- Administer NEC4 in line with HS2 commercial procedures and governance
- Manage:
- Compensation Events (CEs) – preparation, assessment, negotiation, agreement
- NCE/Early warning process and risk reduction
- Ensure compliance with time-barring, notification, and acceptance procedures
- Support the Project Manager / Commercial Lead function under NEC contract
Change & Risk Management
- Lead evaluation of scope changes and CE submissions from the DJV
- Provide robust cost and programme impact analysis
- Maintain and update commercial risk registers
Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key interface between:
- HS2 project team / Client functions
- HS2 Track DJV (Egis and JV interfaces)
- Internal Egis project teams
- Provide clear commercial advice to senior stakeholders
- Support engagement across multi-disciplinary rail delivery environment
Reporting & Governance
- Produce and maintain:
- Weekly / Monthly cost reports
- CE registers and trackers
- Financial dashboards for leadership review
- Ensure compliance with:
- HS2Track DJV commercial standards
- Egis internal governance
- Maintain full audit trail of commercial decisions
Key Deliverables
- Cost forecasts and outturn positions
- Assessed and agreed Compensation Events
- Commercial risk and opportunity assessments
- Monthly cost and performance reports
- Final account / contract close-out documentation
Essential
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- Extensive experience in major infrastructure / rail
- Strong working knowledge of NEC4 (essential)
- Proven track record in:
- Cost management of NEC4
- Compensation Event assessment
- Commercial assurance on client/consultancy side
Desirable
- HS2 project experience or familiarity with HS2 governance frameworks
- Experience with Track systems, rail engineering, or multidisciplinary design JV environment
- Professional Membership
- MRICS / working towards chartership preferred
