Housekeeping Supervisor
Babylonstoren is seeking an energetic, organised, and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily management of the Housekeeping Department and for maintaining the high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation for which Babylonstoren is renowned. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional hospitality experiences.
Responsibilities
• Supervise and support housekeeping staff in their daily duties.
• Manage daily tasks, work schedules, and staff allocations.
• Ensure exceptional standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation in guest rooms, public areas, and surrounding gardens.
• Identify, report, and follow up on maintenance requirements.
• Monitor and control housekeeping supplies, linen, and equipment.
• Handle guest requests professionally and ensure an outstanding guest experience.
• Maintain accurate records and assist with administrative functions within the department.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
Requirements
• Grade 12 (Matric); a qualification in Hospitality Management or a related field will be advantageous.
• 2–5 years of housekeeping experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of housekeeping standards, cleaning equipment, chemicals, and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
