This role in the Appointed Actuary Function team supports the actuarial stochastic modelling development and maintenance covering multiple reporting basis, and the implementation of stochastic model on PathWise across multiple reporting standards and internal management bases, where on-the-job training and exposure to actuarial modelling, financial reporting, and regulatory frameworks (e.g. IFRS17, HKRBC) will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the actuarial stochastic model development and maintenance including implementation of new product, dynamic actions, investment strategies.
  • Supports the transformation project to implement the actuarial stochastic model on PathWise, covering model design, testing, and implementation.
  • Coordinate with BAU teams (including IFRS17, HKRBC, and Par Management teams) to ensure the consistency of actuarial models for various purposes. Ensure model changes are implemented according to agreed timeline and priority, with proper testing and documentation.
  • Closely work with various stakeholders (including within actuarial, and with other departments) to thoroughly understand requirements and efficiently deliver modelling outcomes.

Preferred skills

  • Experience in actuarial stochastic modelling (e.g., Prophet / PathWise / AXIS, etc.) and/or data processing tools (e.g., Alteryx, etc.) are strong assets.
  • Experience in IFRS17 / HKRBC / Par Management / Project Management areas are added advantages.
  • Strong technical, and analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and task ownership.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, commitment and responsibility as a team member.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English and Chinese.

Qualifications

  • University Graduate in Actuarial Science or related disciplines
  • Good progression in actuarial examinations.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience
