Job Summary
The Heavy Equipment Operator (Seasonal) is responsible for safely and skillfully operating a wide range of heavy and light equipment to support maintenance, construction, and utility repair efforts park‑wide. This role performs tasks involving loaders, skid steers, backhoes, dump trucks, snow blowers, chainsaws, and various hand tools to complete projects such as utility repairs, bumper log installation and staining, concrete and asphalt patching, and seasonal snow‑related preparations.
The Details: Position Type: Seasonal Season Dates: July 2026 - November 2026 Pay: $22.75 Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
- Responsible for proficiently operating loaders, skid steer loaders, backhoe loaders, dump trucks, snow blowers, and other equipment common to the trade, including shovels, rakes, tampers, etc.
- Responsible for proficiently operating chainsaws, hand saws, wedges, block & tackle, and other tree falling equipment common to trade.
- Responsible for placing concrete and asphalt patching park-wide.
- Responsible for replacement and staining of bumper logs park-wide.
- Responsible for all domestic utility (water, sewer, electrical) repairs park-wide.
- Responsible for correct placement of snow poles for future snow removal.
- Responsible for working safely and complying with all current related codes and regulations.
Qualifications
- Must be proficient in the safety and use of loaders, skid steer loaders, backhoe loaders, dump trucks, snow blowers, and other equipment common to trade, including shovels, rakes, tampers, etc.
- Must be proficient in the safety and use of chainsaws, hand saws, wedges, block & tackle, and other tree falling equipment common to the trade.
- General knowledge of log work, i.e. placement of bumper logs.
- General knowledge of domestic utility repair work, i.e. water, sewer, electrical.
- General knowledge of placing concrete and asphalt patching.
- General knowledge of painting and staining, i.e. bumper log finishing.
- Must be at least 21 years old and possess a current, valid, Class A CDL license with a good driving record. This position will also be subject to required DOT drug and alcohol testing.
- You must be able to read, understand, interpret and comply with all Xanterra’s company policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements include
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at elevations over 6,000 ft.
- Walk up to 0.5 miles over uneven terrain; climb stairs and ladders.
- Lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
- Perform heavy labor outdoors in all weather conditions.
