Job description

The main role of the QA Engineer is to uphold the quality of our software and customer experience through identifying and preventing defects from being introduced and ultimately that our software is fit for purpose

What you'll be doing

Evaluate user story requirements for testability

Driving the QA domain from very early stages, improving and adopting new processes, tools and techniques

Participating in team ceremonies, including planning, refinement, estimation, and daily stand-ups.

Producing comprehensive test cases, regression packs. Manual and where possible automated tests

Ensuring acceptance criteria are met through testing, either directly or via other stakeholders, UAT teams, user groups, beta testers

Performing exploratory testing to establish any defects or bugs from unexpected use cases

Recording defects found in a clear and constructive way with documented steps to reproduce

Understand our products, services and offerings and understand how they are important to our customers

Communicating clearly to mixed audiences

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Experience of analysing business requirements and translating them into concrete, repeatable test cases

Hands-on experience with Database Testing using SQL, and API testing using tools such as Postman, Insomnia, TestRail, X-Ray or similar

Basic knowledge of Git

Exposure to JIRA

Experience of writing, testing, and validating acceptance criteria

Experience of producing and maintaining test documentation and other test artefacts

Experience of working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in agile teams
