Job Overview
The Hostess Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the front-of-house operations, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere, and leading the hostess team. This position requires excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills. The Hostess Supervisor plays a crucial role in setting the tone for the guest experience by maintaining efficient seating arrangements, managing waitlists, and ensuring guests are greeted and seated in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the hostess team
- Monitor the performance of hostesses, and do coaching for improvement
- Manage waiting lists and reservations efficiently, ensuring minimal wait times.
- Handle any guest concerns or complaints professionally
- Report any staffing operational concerns to the restaurant manager/superior.
- Ensure the front-of-house area is always clean, organized, and welcoming.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or front-of-house role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable) is a plus.
