Job Summary

The Business Development Manager is primarily responsible for driving revenue growth and market expansion in the rest of Sub-Sahara Africa. The role involves strategic market development, revenue generation, client acquisition, account management, and collaboration with internal teams to achieve business growth, retention and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development & Sales Growth
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams.
  • Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Drive sales growth through prospecting, networking, referrals, and market intelligence.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline to achieve revenue targets.
  • Lead client acquisition efforts from prospecting through contract closure.
  • Actively promote and develop new product lines, services and adjacent business opportunities.
  • Client and Partners' Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Conduct client meetings, presentations, demonstrations, and negotiations.
  • Understand client needs and propose suitable solutions/services.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for strategic accounts.
  • Build and maintain ongoing business relationships at all times with SES partner agents.

3.Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
  • Monitor industry developments and provide commercial insights to management.
  • Develop pricing and market penetration recommendations.
  • Support expansion into new markets and customer segments.
  • Proposal Development & Negotiation
  • Prepare business proposals, quotations, tenders, and commercial presentations.
  • Lead commercial negotiations to secure profitable agreements.
  • Work closely with technical, operations, and finance teams during bid preparation.
  • Reporting & Performance Management
  • Prepare periodic sales and business development reports.
  • Track sales activities, pipeline status, conversion rates, and revenue performance.
  • Maintain accurate CRM and client records.
  • Deliver against agreed KPIs, sales targets, and growth objectives.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Support marketing initiatives, campaigns, and brand positioning activities.
  • Represent the organisation at industry events, exhibitions, and networking forums.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree with NYSC discharge certificate
  • Minimum 7years of working experience with at least 4years of those in senior Customer Service, Sales or Business Development management positions in a multinational company
  • Membership to relevant Professional bodies an added advantage
  • Experience in B2B sales and client relationship management
