Job description
Summary: The Account Officer / Finance & Accounts Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity, transparency, and scalability of Grabb Livestock’s operations across its platform, HerLivestock, and RamVest. This hybrid role is responsible for building and maintaining a robust financial foundation, including a structured chart of accounts, accurate bookkeeping, and compliance with Nigerian statutory requirements. The incumbent will lead financial management, reporting, and controls across all business units, ensuring proper segregation of funds, accurate budgeting, and timely financial disclosures. By delivering actionable insights through dashboards and reports, this role directly supports strategic decision-making, investor and donor confidence, and sustainable growth. Responsibilities: Design and maintain a scalable chart of accounts that clearly separates platform income, HerLivestock (restricted funds), RamVest (investment capital), and core operations. Establish and manage cost centers for farmer acquisition, customer acquisition, logistics, technology & AI, and administrative overhead. Ensure accurate and timely general ledger, cashbook, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations across all accounts. Record and reconcile all farmer payments, customer collections, vendor payouts, and logistics costs with supporting documentation. Track platform revenue streams (commissions, service fees, logistics markups) and reconcile payment gateway reports with bank statements. Identify and resolve revenue leakage and payment delays in real time. Manage restricted grant funds for HerLivestock in strict compliance with donor agreements; prepare donor-ready financial reports and audit support. Track investor capital, livestock costs, operational expenses, and sales proceeds for RamVest; calculate returns, profits, and management fees. Prepare transparent investor statements and ensure capital preservation and accurate profit distribution. Develop annual and project-specific budgets, monthly cash flow forecasts, and monitor actuals vs. budget with early warning flags. Design and enforce internal controls including payment workflows, expense limits, petty cash policies, and segregation of duties. Ensure full compliance with Nigerian tax regulations (FIRS, State IRS, PAYE, pension, VAT, WHT) and maintain all required documentation. Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements. Build and maintain financial dashboards to track revenue by channel, cost drivers, and unit economics per livestock cycle. Deliver high-quality financial reports for investors, donors, and stakeholders, including grant reports, due diligence packs, and fundraising materials. Support internal and external audits and respond to financial inquiries with clarity and professionalism.
