Client Executive, Surety - Job Description

Position Summary

The Client Executive serves as a strategic advisor and primary relationship manager for mid-to-large-market surety clients. This role is responsible for managing contract and commercial surety programs, driving client retention and growth, and delivering exceptional client service. The position combines strategic relationship management with hands-on execution, supporting organizational growth while ensuring high-quality outcomes and long-term client success.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Leadership & Ownership

· Serve as primary relationship manager and trusted advisor for assigned surety clients.

· Own client surety programs including strategy, structure, and execution.

· Act as subject matter expert on surety markets, underwriting, and financial analysis.

· Partner with internal and external stakeholders to align solutions with client needs.

Hands-On Execution & Delivery

· Manage bond programs including submissions, indemnity review, and approvals.

· Coordinate placements, renewals, and program modifications with carriers.

· Prepare and negotiate submissions and program terms.

· Support new business development through meetings and presentations.

Reporting, Quality & Operational Support

· Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC, Tinubu/SurePath and related systems.

· Ensure data accuracy, compliance, and completeness of bond transactions.

· Monitor client programs for risks, issues, and performance opportunities.

· Ensure adherence to regulatory and underwriting requirements.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Integration

· Partner with Client Managers and internal teams for seamless service delivery.

· Collaborate with underwriters and carrier partners.

· Facilitate communication across teams and stakeholders.

· Support integration of surety solutions with broader risk strategies.

Growth, Change & Special Initiatives

· Identify opportunities to expand services and drive account growth.

· Support marketing initiatives, prospecting, and networking.

· Participate in strategic planning and business development efforts.

· Mentor junior staff and support team development.

Process Improvement & Best Practices

· Identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiencies.

· Stay current on market trends and industry developments.

· Promote best practices in surety advisory and program management.

· Drive consistent, scalable processes and solutions.

Accountability

· Delivering high-quality surety solutions aligned to client and business goals.

· Maintaining accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence.

· Driving client satisfaction, retention, and growth.

· Building strong relationships internally and externally.

· Exercising sound judgment and ownership in decision making.

Qualifications

Required

· Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

· 5+ years of surety or related financial services experience.

· Strong knowledge of contract surety, underwriting, and financial analysis.

· Active Property & Casualty license.

· Strong communication, time management, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred

· Professional designations (AFSB, CPCU, ARM).

· Experience with EPIC and Tinubu/SurePath.

· Established carrier relationships.

· Notary Public designation.
