Job description
About the role
We are seeking an Examinations Officer to provide essential operational support during a period of maternity leave. This role is a key part of the Exams Team, responsible for the accurate planning, scheduling and delivery of all campus‑based examinations. You will coordinate examination timetables, rooming, invigilation staffing and student communications, ensuring all activities run smoothly, compliantly and to strict deadlines.
Working closely with academic and professional services colleagues, you will help maintain data accuracy, uphold assessment integrity and support a consistent, high‑quality student experience. This is a fast‑paced, detail‑focused role at the heart of the University's assessment operations, offering the opportunity to contribute directly to successful exam delivery during our busiest points in the academic cycle.
About you
You will be a highly organised and detail‑focused professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. With strong administrative experience and excellent attention to accuracy, you are confident coordinating complex processes and managing multiple priorities simultaneously. You will bring clear, proactive communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues across academic and professional services teams. You are comfortable working with data and systems, able to maintain high standards of accuracy under pressure, and committed to delivering a positive, reliable service for students and staff. A collaborative mindset, resilience and a solution‑focused approach will enable you to contribute effectively to the smooth running of the University's examinations operations.
