Architectural Technician / Technologist Assistant Consultant or Consultant

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for an architectural technician / technologist to join our Birmingham, Leamington Spa or London offices.

The candidate will provide support to the architectural team in the production of drawings and design documentation. They will be part of the wider Built Environment design team which also includes urban designers and landscape architects working on a wide range of development planning and architectural design projects.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for supporting the architectural team in the production of drawings, graphics and documents. Work will need to be produced to deadlines and quality standards defined by the design task manager. Training will be provided in the particular requirements of the different design disciplines. The role requires good time management and the ability to work accurately under pressure. The role will also require task and project management with support from more senior staff. Support and mentoring will be provided to assist RIBA Part 3 qualification.

Qualifications

• Qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in architectural technology
• Candidate will need to be able to demonstrate experience of working in UK architectural practice and have relevant experience to date
• Candidate will need to be able to demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit, including BIM systems and protocols and a working knowledge of InfraWorks, Photoshop, In-Design, Illustrator and Sketch-Up would also be very useful as well as MS Office 360 applications such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint
• You will be required to demonstrate an understanding of the design process, an aptitude for design and ability in drawing by hand
• Experienced in working on own initiative and as part of an established team
