Auto Mechanic

Job Summary: The Automotive Mechanics will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks (FAW, HOWO, and TX Premium) and tanker trailers. The role ensures all vehicles and trailer systems are kept in safe, roadworthy, and operational condition through preventive maintenance, breakdown response, and compliance with safety standards. The position is critical in minimizing downtime and ensuring fleet reliability and safety. Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, axles, braking systems, and suspension systems Carry out preventive and scheduled maintenance for heavy-duty trucks Perform repair and overhaul of tanker trailers including braking systems, suspension, landing legs, kingpins, and couplings Respond promptly to vehicle breakdowns and restore operational status safely and efficiently Inspect and maintain tanker systems such as air lines, valves, brake chambers, ABS/EBS, and safety interlocks Ensure all chassis, fittings, and structural components are in safe working condition Identify and report safety, mechanical, and environmental hazards immediately Adhere to HSE policies, SOPs, and legal compliance requirements Use proper PPE and follow lock-out/tag-out procedures at all times Complete job cards, inspection reports, and maintenance records accurately Identify recurring faults and recommend preventive and corrective actions Coordinate with auto electricians, supervisors, and workshop teams during repairs Requirements Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics or related field Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and repair Strong knowledge of truck and tanker trailer systems Good understanding of workplace safety standards (HSE) Ability to diagnose complex mechanical faults and perform repairs independently Experience working with FAW, HOWO, or similar heavy-duty trucks is an advantage
