Role Overview: We are looking for a highly analytical and locally experienced Product Owner to join our team in the Philippines. This role that combines product ownership, business analysis, implementation support, and local regulatory understanding. You will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, compliance users, product teams, technical teams, and implementation partners to support the rollout of Sybrin’s Fraud Risk Management solutions in the Philippine market. You will play a key role in the implementation of the Sybrin’s Fraud Risk Management System, which includes Sybrin Transaction Monitoring and Sybrin Compliance Workspace. Your main focus will be to ensure that fraud detection typologies, maker-checker workflows, investigation processes, case management functionality, and compliance-related configurations are practical, locally relevant, and aligned to Philippine regulatory requirements. The role is suited to someone who understands financial crime compliance, can translate business and regulatory needs into clear product and system requirements, and is comfortable working closely with both compliance stakeholders and software engineering teams.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; a master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst or in a similar role within the tech industry.
  • Strong understanding of product development processes, methodologies, and tools.
  • Experience with agile development practices is a plus.

Reporting Line: Product Manager / Head of Implementation

What You Will Be Doing: As a Product Owner, you will wear multiple hats—part problem-solver, part compliance strategist, and part product expert. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Key responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering & Mapping: Translate the complex needs of local banks and fintechs into actionable system configurations, ensuring alignment with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) mandates and the Anti-Money Laundering Council’s (AMLC) reporting guidelines.
  • System Configuration & Typology Design: Work hands-on with the Tazama Rules Engine to configure and calibrate fraud and money laundering typologies (e.g., money mules, account takeovers, velocity anomalies) using incoming ISO 20022 transaction data.
  • Workflow Optimization: Design and implement investigative workflows within the Sybrin Compliance Workspace, setting up role-based access (Maker/Checker/Operator) and automated Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for alert triage.
  • Regulatory Alignment: Ensure the platform natively supports localized compliance requirements, including the Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act (AFASA), by configuring the necessary dispute and hold workflows.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with system integrators, software engineers, and QA teams to validate that the end-to-end flow—from transaction ingestion to case resolution—functions flawlessly.
  • User Enablement: Assist in creating localized documentation, testing scenarios, and training materials for the end-users (fraud investigators and compliance officers) interacting with the Sybrin UI.

What You Bring to the Role: We need someone who understands the nuances of the Philippine financial sector and knows how to implement software that solves real-world compliance headaches.

  • Local Market Expertise: Deep understanding of the Philippine financial regulatory landscape, specifically AMLA, BSP circulars, and AMLC CTR/STR reporting standards.
  • Domain Experience: Proven track record working as a Product Analyst, Business Analyst, or Implementation Consultant on AML, Fraud Risk Management, or Transaction Monitoring software implementations.
  • Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with modern payment architectures and messaging standards (especially ISO 20022 and JSON) to effectively map data into the Tazama engine.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to analyze transaction flows, dissect fraud schemes, and translate them into logical detection rules and typologies.
  • Exceptional Communication: The ability to speak the language of both software engineers and compliance officers, facilitating clear and productive discussions.

Advantageous Skills

  • AI/ML Knowledge: While this role focuses on rule-based detection, a foundational understanding of Machine Learning concepts (such as anomaly detection, probability scoring, or drift monitoring) is a massive plus as we look to augment our systems with predictive models in the future.
