Job description
Job Summary Coordinate and prioritize vehicle and personnel movements to meet service and delivery requirements. Monitor fleet status and communicate updates to drivers, customers, and supervisors. Number of Positions 8 Main Duties Receive and process service requests, orders and dispatch instructions via phone, radio and computer systems. Assign drivers and vehicles based on availability, route efficiency and service priorities. Monitor vehicle locations and status using GPS, telematics and communication tools; update schedules as needed. Communicate with drivers, customers and internal teams to provide ETAs, route changes and incident updates. Maintain accurate logs, records and reports of dispatch activities, vehicle movements and service outcomes. Coordinate responses to delays, accidents or service disruptions and escalate issues to management when required. Requirements Secondary school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in dispatching, transportation coordination or a related role. Proficiency with dispatch/route planning software, GPS tools and standard office applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task and make decisions under time pressure. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and shift rotations as required. Required Skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
