Job description
Job Summary Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender documents for construction projects. Collaborate with project teams and suppliers to support budgeting, bidding, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle. Number of Positions 5 Main Duties Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates from drawings, specifications, and site visits. Analyze project plans and specifications to identify scope, materials, labor, and equipment requirements. Solicit, compare, and evaluate quotations from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain competitive pricing. Develop and submit tender documents, bid proposals, and comprehensive cost breakdowns for projects. Perform cost comparisons, value engineering, and risk assessments to recommend budget optimizations. Maintain and update estimate databases, records, and change order documentation throughout project phases. Requirements Post-secondary diploma or certificate in construction technology, civil engineering, quantity surveying, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in construction estimating or a related project costing role. Proficiency with construction estimating software and advanced spreadsheet applications. Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Strong numerical, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills for accurate cost calculations. Effective written and verbal communication skills and experience coordinating with project teams and suppliers.
