Job description
Job Summary Lead and coordinate carpentry crews to complete residential and commercial construction projects on time and to specification. Oversee job planning, quality control, and safety compliance while liaising with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Number of Positions 1 Main Duties Plan, schedule, and supervise daily carpentry operations and crew assignments to meet project timelines. Interpret architectural drawings and blueprints to determine materials, dimensions, and installation procedures. Estimate material quantities, prepare cost and labour estimates, and order supplies as needed. Inspect work for quality, enforce building codes and safety standards, and implement corrective actions. Train, mentor, and evaluate carpentry tradespersons and apprentices on techniques and best practices. Coordinate with other trades, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project continuity and resolve site issues. Requirements Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship, trade certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Several years of hands-on carpentry experience with supervisory or lead responsibilities. Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications. Knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and workplace health and safety regulations. Physical ability to perform and supervise construction tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working at heights. Strong communication and organizational skills, with basic computer literacy for schedules and estimates.
