Job description

L&G Retail is looking for a Conversion Rate Optimisation Manager to help shape and deliver optimisation activity across our Direct Protection customer journeys.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys using data, experimentation and customer insight to make digital journeys work better. You’ll own the CRO roadmap, lead testing activity from idea through to insight, and work closely with teams across digital, product, compliance, marketing, analytics and development.

You don’t need financial services experience. What matters most is that you can bring strong CRO knowledge, commercial awareness, analytical thinking and the confidence to take ownership of a roadmap that has real customer and business impact.

    What you'll be doing:

    • Defining and delivering the Direct Protection CRO strategy to improve conversion, customer experience and commercial outcomes
    • Managing the full experimentation process, including hypothesis creation, prioritisation, QA, deployment, analysis and recommendations
    • Building and maintaining a CRO backlog aligned to customer insight, analytics and business priorities
    • Using qualitative and quantitative data to identify friction points, opportunities and next-best actions
    • Collaborating with developers, analysts, compliance, marketing, product teams and external partners to deliver effective experiments
    • Communicating test results, insights and business impact clearly to stakeholders at different levels
    • Championing CRO best practice and helping build a data-driven, customer-focused experimentation culture
    • Exploring new ways to improve personalisation, predictive modelling and automation across omnichannel journeys

    Who we're looking for:

    • Proven experience managing end-to-end conversion rate optimisation activity
    • Strong hands-on experience with A/B testing, multivariate testing and experimentation tools such as Adobe Target, Optimizely, VWO or similar
    • Strong analytical skills, with experience using tools such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics or equivalent
    • Experience owning or shaping a CRO strategy, roadmap or experimentation backlog
    • Good understanding of UX principles, customer behaviour and conversion best practice
    • Confidence working with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, compliance, product and marketing colleagues
    • Ability to turn data and customer insight into clear recommendations and measurable outcomes
    • Familiarity with front-end technologies, session replay, heat mapping, usability testing or Scrum ways of working would be helpful but is not essential

Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:

    • The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance -related bonus plan and valuable share schemes
    • Generous pension contribution
    • Life assurance
    • Healthcare Plan (permanent employees only)
    • At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years’ service. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday
    • Competitive family leave
    • Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only)
    • There are many discounts we offer – both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online
    • We’re creating net‑zero carbon workplaces by 2030 by investing in our sustainable, modern offices across the UK, all designed to bring people together and elevate the in‑person experience

At L&G, we believe it's possible to generate positive returns today while helping to build a better future for all.

If you join us, you’ll be part of a welcoming, inclusive culture, with opportunities to collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds, views, and experiences. Guided by leaders with integrity who care about your future and wellbeing. Empowered through initiatives which support people to develop their careers and excel.

We care passionately about outcomes rather than attendance and are therefore open to discussing all kinds of flexible working options including part-time, term-time and job shares. Although some roles have limited flexibility due to customer demand, we accommodate requests when we can.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t meet every single criterion in this advert. Instead, think about what you excel at and what else you can bring in terms of strengths, potential and connection to our purpose.
