Job description

Who we are looking for

This role will initially support the Systematic Equity Beta (SEB) portfolio management team in day‑to‑day investment activities. Training will be provided across all aspects of index fund management with expectation upon reaching the required level of competence, the job holder will assume responsibility for managing equity portfolios across the spectrum of index capabilities, including rebalancing, risk monitoring, and exposure management.

What you will be responsible for

Management of passive equity portfolios, including daily portfolio monitoring, cash management, investing/divesting cash flows, trade construction & execution

Analysis of index changes and corporate actions decisions, helping to formulate and execute the most appropriate implementation strategy

Performance attribution analysis and explaining tracking results

Attain/maintain good understanding of equity markets around the world and index vendor methodologies

Provide high level service for client facing teams, including helping to respond to client needs, prepare materials for presentations, and draft investment reports.

Fundamentally curious and passionate about equity investment

Education & Preferred Qualifications

Ideally a graduate with a finance / economics related degree with good understanding of the investment industry

Previous experience within financial services industry will be advantageous

Existing experience at State Street, with demonstrable knowledge of State Street systems will be viewed highly.

Additional requirements

Either currently studying for or planning to take CFA exams (preferable)

Computer literate, especially for Microsoft Office applications

Demonstrable knowledge of different investment instruments (not necessarily equities)

Demonstrable knowledge of how investment performance is calculated
