Job description
As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor , you’ll be at the heart of an exciting new West Apron Vehicle Underpass project at Dublin Airport. Join our dynamic team and make a difference!
The Graduate Quantity Surveyor , will play a fundamental role within the Commercial team, contributing to the delivery of a high standard of service, supporting successful project outcomes, capturing and sharing knowledge across the project, and promoting a culture of innovation.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Graduate Quantity Surveyor will work closely with the Operations, Design, and Commercial teams, as well as supply chain partners. The role includes active involvement in tracking and reporting site progress, while supporting the wider Commercial team with subcontract management, measurement and take-off, change control, reporting, and procurement.

Key Responsibilities include
•
Understand project requirements and carry out tasks set by supervisor/team manager
•
Participate in meetings and workshops
•
Take notes and share findings with management and other relevant stakeholders
•
Conduct market research and collate data
•
Complete take-off and remeasurement as required (both desktop and on site)
•
Assist with procurement and package tender analysis
•
Track progress and productivity on site with respect to labour, plant and materials
•
Assist with the preparation of subcontract documentation
•
Provide support with respect to change control
•
Work in a collaborative manner with all other stakeholders on the project
•
Observe and follow health and safety guidelines
•
Work closely with staff to foster professional values and build good relationships
•
Undertake training as required by the role
Essential criteria
•
Legal right to work in the Republic of Ireland
•
Willingness to complete a 5-year background screening as part of the hiring process.
•
Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying related subject or another relevant discipline.
•
An ability to communicate with a range of people, including customers, clients and key stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
•
Interpersonal skills with ability to negotiate to achieve the best price from suppliers.
•
Logical approach to problem solving along with solid analytical skills, understanding of business processes and systems optimisation.
•
Eager to learn with a keen eye to for detail especially in relation to numerical data.
•
Excellent multi-tasking abilities.
•
Highly skilled in prioritising and organising.
•
Comfortable interacting with all levels of management in multiple areas.
•
Proficient with MS Office software. to include Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Word.
Desirable criteria
•
Previous NEC contract experience (NEC3 or NEC4 option C)
•
Knowledge of and/or experience using measurement and BIM software
•
Working towards RICS/CIOB accreditation
•
Knowledge of the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
