Job description
Job Summary Provide diagnostic imaging and therapeutic procedures using specialized radiation equipment to support patient diagnosis and treatment. Deliver safe, compassionate patient care while adhering to radiation safety standards and clinical protocols. Number of Positions 4 Main Duties Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging or radiation therapy procedures, explaining procedures and screening for contraindications. Operate and adjust imaging and therapeutic equipment to acquire high-quality diagnostic images or deliver prescribed radiation treatments. Select and set technical parameters, monitor image quality, and perform image post-processing and documentation. Implement and maintain radiation safety, infection control, and patient privacy practices; monitor radiation dose and exposures. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to review requests, communicate findings, and coordinate patient care. Perform routine equipment quality control checks, basic troubleshooting, and maintain accurate patient and procedure records. Requirements Completion of an accredited medical radiation technology program or equivalent diploma/degree. Registration or certification with the appropriate provincial/territorial regulatory body where required for practice. Clinical practicum or hands-on experience in diagnostic imaging or radiation therapy. Knowledge of radiation safety principles, dose optimization, and relevant regulations. Ability to perform patient care tasks, including safe patient handling and positioning. Proficient written and verbal communication skills and familiarity with digital imaging systems (PACS/RIS).
