Overview
Oversee the daily operation of the auto body shop under the direct supervision of the Transportation Operations Manager. Oversee the automotive workers and assist the workers in repairs of damaged bodies and body parts of vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the daily operations of the auto body shop
- Managing customer relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Inform Transportation Manager of parts and supplies that may need to be ordered and maintain inventory control.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining up-to-date knowledge on the latest automotive repair procedures and technologies
- Resolving any issues or conflicts that arise in the shop
- Inspecting completed work for quality and adherence to customer specifications
- Assist with repairs to automobiles, buses, and light trucks according to repair manuals, using hand tools and power tools.
- Removes upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window, seat-operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle body and fender.
- Positions block against surface of dented area and beats opposite surface to remove dents using hammer and fills depressions with solder or other plastic material.
- Removes damaged fenders, panels, and grills, using wrenches and cutting torch, and bolts or welds replacement, straightens bent frames, using hydraulic jack and pulling device, files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools.
- Refinishes repaired surface, using paint spray gun and sander, aims headlights, aligns wheels, bleeds hydraulic brake system, and may paint surface after performing body repairs.
- Must have basic computer skills and be able to communicate with Prime leadership and customers in written form.
Qualifications
Education/Certificates
- Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must possess a valid home country driver’s license and be capable of obtaining a USG driver’s license Experience:
- 2 - 3 years working in an auto body shop
- Painting and performing auto body repairs
- Updating work order using a tablet, computer, and/or handwritten paper workorders.
- Inventory control
- Placing orders for material and parts
- Time management Skills:
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Detail oriented
- Must speck, write, and read English, as well as provide and receive directions in English. Material/Equipment:
- Computers
- Tablet
- Two-way radios
- Office equipment
- Hand tools and power tools Working Conditions:
- Activities occur inside and outside
- Exposure to high humidity and temperatures
- Island environment
