Job description

1. Organization and support of student projects and initiatives:

  1. Plans, coordinates, and supports the implementation of extracurricular student activities, including interschool, interuniversity, and partner projects.
  2. Engages students in participation in activities, develops a support system for their ideas, and provides consultations on project-related matters.
  3. Oversees the life cycle of projects implemented by student organizations.

2. Coordination and Support of Student Organizations and Self-Governance:

  1. Provides consultation to student organizations on issues of development, internal structure, and interaction with the University administration.
  2. Facilitates the registration and ongoing support of newly established student associations and supports their operational activities within the scope of the Unit’s competence.
  3. Provides methodological and organizational support to student self-governance bodies (including the Student Government) within the scope of his/her competencies.

3. Analytics, Reporting, and Information Support:

  1. Collects, systematizes, and analyzes data on student engagement, preparing comprehensive reports for University administration.
  2. Provides information support for student participation in Olympiads, competitions, conferences, forums, and projects at various levels.

4. Analytics and database management:

  1. Collects, structures, and analyzes statistical data on the activities of student organizations and student engagement.
  2. Updates and develops the database of student organizations, ensuring its accuracy and relevance.
  3. Prepares analytical reports and summaries for the supervised areas and provides information to support management decision-making.

5. Interaction with the University’s structural divisions and external organizations, and maintenance of military records of students:

  1. Coordinates interaction with the University’s structural divisions to implement student projects and improve the extracurricular environment.
  2. Communicates with academic and administrative units on matters related to supporting student initiatives.
  3. Provides information support for student participation in external events (olympiads, conferences, competitions, forums, etc.).
  4. Uses analytical data to develop recommendations for managerial decision-making and to justify changes in student policy.
  5. Participates in the development of regulatory documents and procedures governing the activities of student organizations and student self-government bodies.
  6. Interacts with government authorities and the University’s structural divisions on matters related to the organization and maintenance of military records of students, and ensures the collection, updating, and timely submission of the required information in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Education requirements (level, field, licenses, professional certifications, etc.): 

1) Higher education degree in Management, Educational Administration, Business Administration, or Public Administration.

2) Possession of project management certifications (such as PMI, IPMA) will be considered as an advantage.

Work experience requirements: 

1) At least 3 years of relevant work experience

2) At least 1 year of relevant work experience with a Master's degree in a related field

Knowledge, skills, and competencies requirements: 

Knowledge:

1) Knowledge of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the fields of education, culture, and youth policy;

2) Understanding of the educational systems of North America and the United Kingdom;

3) Proficiency in MS Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint;

4) Knowledge of methods for student engagement, facilitation, and support of student initiatives;

5) Experience in organizing and managing projects.

6) Knowledge of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Law “On the Status of Nazarbayev University,” Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools, Nazarbayev Foundation, and other legislative and normative acts in higher education in Kazakhstan.

Skills:

1) Skills in planning and coordinating complex, multi-component student projects;

2) Mentoring and supporting student leaders;

3) Skills in conducting training sessions, presentations, and facilitation workshops;

4) Ability to prepare analytical reports, explanatory notes, and presentations.

Competences:

1) Ability to independently initiate and lead projects;

2) Ability to build productive relationships with students and colleagues;

3) Ability to analyze data and draw evidence-based conclusions;

4) Strong oral and written communication skills;

5) Ability to develop students’ leadership potential;

6) Ability to perform effectively under uncertainty, tight deadlines, and high workload.

Language requirements: 

Fluent in Kazakh, Russian, and English for effective business correspondence, documentation, analytical materials, interaction with students and other structural departments, consultants, and partners
