ARTISTIC PLANNING & PRODUCTION DIVISION DRAMATURGIE PUBLICATIONS EDITOR

Reports to: Head of Artistic Planning

JOB SUMMARY

The Publications Editor is responsible for the editing, proof-reading and timely production of printed publications of the Philharmonie, especially of the evening programmes. Equipped with a broad theoretical and practical musical background and in close co-operation with the Head of Artistic Planning, the Publications Editor will create and edit the multilingual content of the programmes and collate biographical, programme and other information relevant to the concert productions. While editing and publications are clearly the focus of activity, he/she has also to ensure administrative and other tasks related to all publications. Furthermore, his/her experience with various areas of music such as jazz, world and classical music as well as his/her skills in communication and presentation enable him/her to contribute to the Philharmonie's concert introductions programme. At this point, the Dramaturgie is part of the Artistic Planning Division. All should be developed in close collaboration with the Marketing & Digital Division.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  Editing and proof-reading of printed publications of the Philharmonie (mainly of texts written in French).  Verifying the compliance of publications with the internal standards regarding orthography and spelling (e.g. of names, titles of works, texts written in French, German and English) as well as with the corporate design of the Philharmonie.  Translation of texts, mainly of those concerning music and artists, within the multilingual environment of the Philharmonie (especially from German to French and English to French/German).  Collating biographical, programme and other information relevant to the concert productions.  Rights clearing for texts, photos and illustrations and managing the procurement of the related credits.  Communication with right holders and authors as well as the filing and preparing for accounting of the respective documents, contracts and invoices.  Ensuring, in close collaboration with the corporate team, that all publicity guaranteed to sponsors with regard to printed publications is taken into account.  Contributions to and participation in the programme introductions, pre-/post-concert talks, and other activities around the concerts.  Updating of content management systems and/or databases as far as the respective content is closely related to that of the printed publications.  Collaborating with the Marketing & Digital Editor on marketing editorial tasks as necessary.  Performing other duties as assigned by the Head of Artistic Planning.
