HVAC Designer
Job description
Our client is currently strengthening its team by hiring an HVAC Designer for the maritime sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare HVAC design and detailed drawings for marine applications
- Develop duct routing and equipment layouts for:
- Accommodation areas
- Machinery spaces
- Technical and service spaces
- Prepare drawings for galvanized steel and black steel duct systems
- Detail duct penetrations through bulkheads and decks in coordination with structural drawings
- Translate engineering calculations and specifications into design drawings
- Coordinate HVAC layouts with piping, electrical, and structural disciplines
- Update drawings based on comments from engineers, shipyard, and class
- Assist with material take-offs and drawing documentation
- Maintain drawing revisions and design files
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or a related technical discipline
- 1–3 years of experience as an HVAC Designer or CAD Designer (marine experience preferred)
- Basic understanding of HVAC systems and ducting design principles
- Familiarity with galvanized steel and black steel ductwork
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Ability to read and understand HVAC layouts, schematics, and specifications
- Good written and spoken English
