Accounts Officer
Job description
Job Summary: The Accounts Officer will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting and finance operations of the business, ensuring accurate financial record keeping, timely statutory compliance, and efficient administration of financial transactions. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong accounting fundamentals and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced logistics environment. Responsibilities: Record and process purchase transactions accurately and in a timely manner. Manage petty cash and imprest accounts. Collect, verify, and capture financial data into the accounting system. Prepare, review, and post vouchers and invoices into Tally ERP. Prepare and submit statutory returns and remittances including PAYE, SDL, WHT, VAT, - NSSF, WCF and NHIF. Liaise with statutory authorities, banks, auditors and other stakeholders. Maintain filing and archive management systems. Support reconciliations and month-end activities. Perform other duties assigned by management. Requirements Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. CPA (T) qualification or progress towards CPA is an advantage. Minimum 2–4 years of accounting experience. Knowledge of Tanzanian tax regulations and statutory compliance requirements. Skills & Competencies Proficiency in Tally ERP. Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge. Excellent attention to detail. Good communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
