If you are a "Jack of All Trades" and love working outdoors in scenic areas, this is the job for you! As a Journey Maintenance and Construction Specialist on the Region Crew, you will get to do it all! Our Region Crew accomplishes a wide variety of maintenance and construction projects on a daily basis. The Northwest Crew services some of the most diverse and beautiful State Parks in Utah.

Day-to-day responsibilities of this position

  • Travel to various State Parks to perform construction and maintenance projects
  • Work with park staff to provide care and maintenance of park assets
  • Builds, fabricates, or repairs structures, equipment, and/or miscellaneous articles from verbal instructions, blueprints or working drawings
  • Performs general facility maintenance including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical as well as general cleaning and sanitation

The Region Crew is a hard working, flexible group of dedicated staff based out of SLC that travel to State Parks from Utah Lake to Bear Lake and perform a variety of construction and maintenance tasks. Qualifications

Minimum or "day-one" qualifications

  • Has a CDL (Class A) License or obtain one within 6 months of hire.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Travel is required.
  • Previous experience with general maintenance activities
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of facility operations, construction and maintenance
  • Knowledge of general construction, building construction

Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications

  • Use power tools such as band saws, rip saws, planers, etc.
  • Principles and practices of construction
  • Principles, theories, and practices of electricity
  • Follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Use and maintain a variety of hand tools
  • Installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment
  • Operation and Maintenance of heavy equipment such as backhoes, skid steers, tractors, and excavators

May be called out for emergency situations.
