Senior Accounting Specialist (IFRS / HGB / German)

Do you have solid experience in accounting and financial reporting for insurance or financial institutions? Join a team operating in the insurance & financial services area, where accuracy, regulatory compliance, and analytical thinking play a central role. You’ll be part of a unit responsible for high-quality reporting under Solvency II, IFRS, and HGB, working closely with experts across finance, actuarial, risk, and compliance. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys structured work, understands complex accounting standards, and wants to influence key reporting processes at group level.

Key responsibilities Prepare and coordinate quarterly and annual financial statements in line with Solvency II, IFRS, and HGB. Act as a subject-matter expert for external accounting topics within insurance reporting. Perform balance sheet and variance analyses, ensuring data consistency and quality. Prepare reports for senior leadership, supervisory bodies, compliance, and regulators. Serve as a main point of contact for auditors and tax auditors. Support continuous improvements in accounting processes — aiming for more efficiency, clarity, and automation. Identify and promote opportunities for digitalisation and process optimisation. Participate in cross-department initiatives with finance, actuarial, and reporting teams.

Ideal candidate profile Experience in accounting, controlling, audit, or financial reporting — ideally in insurance or broader financial services. Strong understanding of IFRS, Solvency II, and HGB. Solid knowledge of insurance accounting principles and the financial mechanics of insurance business. Experience with SAP (FI, SEM-BCS), financial reporting tools (Power BI), or databases like TM1. Fluency in German (B2/C1) and English (C1+). Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Insurance or similar. Analytical mindset, reliability, structured thinking, and clear communication skills. ACCA progress is a plus, but not a requirement.
