Job description
- Core Accounting & Financial Operations
- Journal Entries & Postings: Oversee manual, semi-automatic, and deferred item accounting treatments and postings.
- Banking & Balance Sheet Management: Handle Balance Sheet operations, including FX transactions, banking activities, and reconciling bank statements to GL accounts.
- Month-End & Year-End Closing: Lead General Ledger (GL) closing processes, manage accrual and provision activities, and oversee P&L integrity.
- Inventory & Adjustments: Calculate inventory adjustments, manage provisions, and reconcile financial reports.
- Asset Accounting (Fixed Assets)
- Asset Lifecycle Management: Manage Asset Accounting operations, including master data maintenance, setting up asset classes, acquisitions, disposals, revaluations, and depreciation.
- Asset Closing: Execute Asset Accounting closing activities.
- Compliance, Controls & Documentation
- Internal Controls & Audit: Own and maintain internal operational controls while preparing necessary documentation for auditors and tax authorities.
- Process Documentation: Ensure all process manuals and relevant work instructions are created, maintained, and regularly updated.
- Process Improvement & Stakeholder Management
- Continuous Improvement: Identify, evaluate, and resolve operational issues while driving process improvements.
- Business Partnership: Collaborate closely with stakeholders and business partners to build strong professional relationships and deliver high-quality customer service.
Requirements
- University degree preferably in Economics or Finance with major in accounting or equivalent qualification
- Experience in accounting (primarily GL in a SSC environment) is an advantage
- Transition experience is beneficial
- Good understanding of the GL processes
- Continuous Improvement and Quality mindset
- Strong customer orientation
- Good English and German language skills (written and spoken)
- Very good knowledge of SAP Fi is a Plus
