Job Description
- Monitor database health, performance, and availability under the guidance of senior engineers
- Assist with database backup, recovery, and routine maintenance activities
- Support database and middleware patching, upgrades, and installation activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic database and middleware issues, escalating complex incidents when required
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and standard operating procedures
- Assist in customer support activities and incident management.
- Participate in database monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning activities
- Support project implementation, testing, and migration activities.
- Learn and adhere to organizational security, compliance, and operational best practices
Person Specification
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
- Possess basic knowledge of Oracle Database and/or Microsoft SQL Server concepts
- Demonstrate familiarity with SQL and basic database administration concepts
- Possess a basic understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Possess good written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies and work collaboratively within a team environment
- Possess the ability to manage assigned tasks effectively and meet deadlines
- Exposure to database or middleware projects, academic coursework, or relevant certifications will be considered an added advantage
- No prior industry experience is required; however, internship experience or personal/academic projects related to databases or middleware technologies will be considered an added advantage
