L2 Network Security Engineer

About the Role
We are looking for a proactive L2 Network Security Engineer to join our Infrastructure & Security Operations team. You will be responsible for providing Level 2 support for enterprise network and security environments, ensuring the availability, performance, and security of critical customer infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, enjoys troubleshooting complex technical issues, and has experience supporting enterprise networking and security technologies within a Managed Services or enterprise IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
Incident & Service Management
- Investigate and resolve Level 2 network and security incidents within agreed SLAs.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, firewall, VPN, wireless, and routing issues.
- Perform detailed technical analysis to identify root causes of recurring incidents.
- Escalate complex issues to senior engineers (L3) when required.
- Provide accurate and timely ticket updates throughout the incident lifecycle.
Network Administration
- Configure and maintain enterprise network devices.
- Support LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, wireless, and switching environments.
- Troubleshoot routing and switching issues.
- Perform firmware upgrades and routine maintenance activities.
- Monitor network health and respond to alerts proactively.
Security Operations
- Administer firewall policies and security configurations.
- Configure and troubleshoot IPSec and SSL VPNs.
- Support security monitoring and incident response activities.
- Perform firewall rule reviews and implement approved changes.
- Assist with vulnerability remediation and security patching.
Change Management
- Execute approved infrastructure and network changes.
- Participate in maintenance windows and planned upgrades.
- Validate successful implementation of network changes.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation.
Documentation
- Document troubleshooting procedures and resolutions.
- Update knowledge base articles and operational runbooks.
- Maintain network diagrams and configuration records.
Customer Support
- Provide professional technical support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate technical updates clearly during incidents.
- Work closely with L1 and L3 engineers to ensure timely issue resolution.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2–4 years of experience in Network and Security Engineering or Infrastructure Support.
- Experience supporting enterprise network environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across networking and security technologies.
- Experience working within an ITIL-based support environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
